All In The Family

I was raised as a Disney Kid. My first trip to Walt Disney World was in 1973, when my parents took my brother and me. It was like nothing I'd ever seen before. Back then there was just the Magic Kingdom Park. And I remember driving far away to a place called Lake Buena Vista, so my mom could go shopping.

Fast forward a few years, and I now have another brother, a husband, two adult children, a sister in law, and lots of nieces and nephews! And since 1973, I've been to WDW more times than I can count...though I think I'm somewhere around 24 visits. My parents started my Disney addiction, and I have passed my obsession on to my own children. We have been to WDW, been on 4 Disney Cruises, and we have been to Aulani twice. Yes, we are very, very lucky - and believe me, we don't take it for granted.

For years my parents have dreamed about how fun it would be for ALL of us to go back to WDW that's just what we did. My awesome sister in law, Ellen, and I put our heads together and made all the plans. It was a surprise for my parents...their Christmas present actually...and were they surprised!

We actually didn't go to WDW until the following May (after all of the kids were out of school). Some of us drove, some of us flew. Some of us stayed at the Polynesian, and some of us stayed at The Cabins at Fort Wilderness. Each day we all did our own thing: My brother spent a lot of time with his family - and my son - riding the attractions in all the parks. My daughter spend a lot of time with her twin cousins riding attractions, taking full advantage of the Memory Maker photo package, and eating all the snacks on property. My husband and I spent a lot of time just chilling with my parents at the resorts and Disney Springs....oh yes, and we did make an earnest effort to Drink Around The World in Epcot's World Showcase! The point is, we went on a family vacation, but we all did our own thing. We did get together once a day to have a meal, either breakfast or dinner, but other than that, we all chose what we wanted to do for fun...and it was A BLAST!!! Disney has something for little kids, all the way up to grown ups!

When it was time to leave we were all very sad. We had so much fun we just didn't want to leave. Now we are all talking about when we can do it again! Want more information on how to have an amazing Disney vacation - just let me know. I'd love to help you!
